I have discovered that my Toyota Sequoia came factory equipped with a Solar Pizza Warming Oven. Simply put a slice of Pizza in a Ziploc Bag and place it between the sun roof and the sun shade, park in the sun for an hour or so, and the 150 deg F temperature will bring the cheese to it's tasty best.
Earth Bucket
There is a commercial product, called an "Earth Box" that sells for around $50 a piece. I was impressed with the design, and have recommended it to friends.
When possible, I like to make things myself. This is what I came up with. The results were quite satisfying (both aesthetically, and the "fruits" of my labors).
As I do more projects, a majority of them will be published on Instructables.com. I really like the concept and the format. It really speaks to those of us who would rather make something them selves than just get it off the shelf. (This doesn't mean I don't spend money in stores, I'm always stocking up on hardware and tools for future projects.)

Bug Rogers
In addition to normal Trick-or-Treating, some communities, schools and churches hold "Trunk-or-Treat" Events. People are invited to decorate their cars/vans and meet at a designated parking lot. Everybody then walks the circuit of vehicles, collecting candy an socializing.
I had just acquired a VW Baja. By the time we purchased street legal fenders, my little black bug had a total of 8 Headlamps (Including the light bar). That was all the inspiration I needed. I clamped a 1 x 4 to the frame just aft of the front wheels, with about 4 inches extending on either side. With PVC pipe, Zip ties, and black garbage bags I added 8 pose-able legs. I had just enough time to also add a nylon chord to one of the front legs making it operable. My son Jay could stand, engage someone in conversation, and then pull the chord, moving the leg. Often he could place the end of the leg right in the Treat bag of his unsuspecting victim. I had fun parking, deploying the legs and taking pictures at several locations in the Tacoma area. |
